In the Barcelona dressing room, all of the players’ lockers have lists on, telling them who used that locker before — a line of continuity connecting them to the club’s history. Some lists are longer than others. Puyol’s locker, his place in the dressing room, was once occupied by Antoni Ramallets, whose name is written on a white strip on the red wooden door.
Born in July 1924, Ramallets played for Barcelona between 1946 and 1962 and was the goalkeeper for the most successful side in the club’s history, until this one. He died last July at the age of 89.
At the end of the season, Carles Puyol will empty his locker. Someone else’s name will be written on a white strip and stuck on the door for the first time in 15 years. But above that name, it will always say Puyol.❞

ah yes, as an english major i can confirm that no one has ever made up words to compensate for gaps in the language
all words occur naturally in caves located deep in the Amazon rainforest, where they are carefully handpicked by linguists and preserved in dictionaries
